A hidden tower on the Northside
This is quite a nice playground featuring a very tall tower.

Despite the height, it's invisible from nearby roads, and can only be found by taking a bike path to the right place. This gateway is on Florey Drive, and if you go through the red gate you'll find it.

Because of that, it's a delightful surprise and feels like a fantastic secret for kids lucky enough to go there (or lost walkers, or drunk adults late at night who do sometimes leave dodgy rubbish in the top of the tower, so it's worth checking it before letting kids in). Although plenty of playgrounds have towers, this one is generally known as "the" secret tower playground. Because of its secluded location, it's handy to know about on days when the weather is perfect and everyone who has a child is out swarming the better-known playgrounds. If you're not in the mood to deal with other people's kids getting in the way, coughing on your kids, or teaching them new swear words, then this playground can be a lifesaver.
