A lack of forward planning, and Queensland's bizarre trading laws, can result in a 5pm panic on a Sunday night at our house. With most supermarkets shutting up shop by 6pm at the weekend, where can you go to access a decent selection of groceries after hours?
Obviously there is always Spar, Night Owl, etc. for the emergency milk and bread run. But, what if you need a bigger selection and aren't too keen on inflated convenience store prices?
These are the three spots that get me through in case of a severe ingredient emergency. Where are yours?
Open from 6am - 7pm every day this is my local emergency shopping venue. It's not so much a late night option but the 6am start is great for weekend breakfast supplies. What's more, this place has fresh produce displays that are so immaculate they verge on perfection. There is also a great selection of flowers at pretty reasonable prices.
