Las Vegas Confidential

Home > Sydney >
Finishing it's rather short 2 week run this weekend is the musical Las Vegas Confidential at the State Theatre.

From the website:

"Alexander “The Great” Dean has been a headline illusionist act on the Vegas strip for 12 years, but his bad habits are finally catching up with him. To slip past the mob and the FBI, Alex will have to perform the ultimate vanishing act."

There are also a couple of foxy dames and a mob boss romping their way through the convoluted plot.

It does sound like a good premise for a musical. Combine some magic and illusion with well-known tunes (The Gambler, Que Sera Sera, Everybody Knows, Viva Las Vegas), lots of feathers sequins and scantly dressed dancers, along with some sort of plot and you should be onto a winner.

The last night is this Saturday the 22nd. Tickets from TicketMaster.

Why? Magic, feathers, dancers, money, power, great tunes.
