Top notch all day breakfast in Melbourne

Who says breakfast needs to be the first meal of the day? To me, breakfast can be first, second and last meal of the day. I guess folks at Las Chicas feel the same way too. Located in Balaclava, opposite the station this café is a site for fun and yum! The Balaclava station street is an interesting melting pot of cafes, bars, take out places of diverse cuisines, beautiful designer boutiques, great deal fashion accessories and shoes, fresh fruits and veggies and much more. And yes, ATM machines to withdraw the green stuff.

With a scrumptious breakfast menu ranging from fruit and yogurt to porridge and pancakes you will not be disappointed once you're in. A menu serving the healthy hearts to the one driven by purely by taste buds, Las Chicas is a perfect choice. One of the few places serving gluten free recipes, earns Las Chicas extra points.

This is only place in Melbourne that I have been to which serves flavoured and fruit porridge and pancakes with bacon and serves it in style! With options for a half serving or full, no matter how hungry you are you will be satisfied.

The air inside this café is active and happy, brimming with conversations and laughs over cups of coffee or a glass of wine if you please. The staff is friendly and a warm group of people. In fact, when there was a small mix-up with my order, I was offered a complimentary coffee, which totally resulted in customer delight for me. Usually the place gets very full despite seating available outside and at the back area where there is a large community table, which can seat a large group. The décor is very interesting, with posters and events put up informing of the latest art and cultural happenings around Melbourne.

So next time you crave pancakes at three in the avro, bacon and eggs at two or a bowl of steamy porridge at five in the evening, you know where to go!
