I like to participate in life rather than be a spectator. Music, dancing, theatre, travelling, food, cycling and walking are some of my passions. Writing is an enjoyable pastime that allows me to share my experiences.

The Larder is a relaxed restaurant/cafe in Miramar, Wellington close to the Weta Cave. The philosophy of team at The Larder is to foster good relationships with local producers and the local community and the happy buzz of the restaurant is a testament to that. Hence the
menu is produce driven and reflective of the season.

The falafel was soft, juicy and full of flavour as well as looking too pretty to eat. The lamb meatballs were beautifully seasoned and accompanied by a tasty homemade tomato sauce and silky smooth pappardelle pasta.

To finish our meal, we could not go past the date and cardamom scone which was soft, lightly spiced and not too sweet. The coffee was rich and strong and a great accompaniment to the scone.

The team at The Larder are friendly and passionate about their products. As well as the a la carte service, they have a counter for takeaway. Occasionally they run special pop up dinners and are available for function catering.
Cone and see for yourself why The Larder is so popular.
