Handmade noodles served with white radish and beef
I first heard of Lanzhou beef noodles in Montreal Chinatown in Canada, however, due to time constraints, we were not able to check it out. So, upon my return to Australia, I started searching for these unique noodles. Unfortunately, there is none in Adelaide, but whilst on holiday in Melbourne, I was very excited to find that there is a Lanzhou Beef Noodle Bar conveniently located in the CBD.
Signature handmade beef noodle (thin noodles without chili oil))
Established in 2017, Lanzhou Beef Noodle Bar is relatively young. However, its signature handmade beef noodle has become quite popular. The noodle soup is simply served with white radish and beef, plus optional chilli oil. There is also a variety of noodle sizes to choose from - thick, thin, etc. I opted for thin noodles without chilli oil. It definitely has a unique flavour and the handmade noodles were indeed different. And, if you've not witnessed the making of these noodles before, then you're in for a treat as you can see them being made by hand right in front of your eyes. You got to see it to believe it.
