Laneways, Small Shops and Arcades - FREE Walking Tour
Sun 05 Nov 2023 - Thu 21 Dec 2023
Tourists wander Melbourne laneways in awe. But how often do locals take in all Melbourne has to offer? Particularly as most of us live and work in the suburbs.
There are always exciting new finds. Two I found out about recently is VAULT, the National Trust-run vintage clothing store
in the Royal Arcade. And Maria Novella
, with luxurious beauty and wellness products originating back to Florence in 1221 and the Dominican friars.
Melbourne's laneways are full of innovative concepts, secrets and boutique retailers for those in the know.
On this free tour, Courtesy of @cityprecinct, with the support of @cityofmelbourne, you can dive into the city's side streets and meet the owners behind such Melbourne businesses.
From hobby shops, Italian stationery stores, gift stores and art galleries, you'll leave with a better appreciation for what the centre of the city offers.
You'll also learn a bit about Melbourne's history and grab some coffee along the way (included with your free ticket). It wouldn't be a Melbourne without a coffee!
This 90-120 minute tour is perfect for discovering new parts of your city, seeing street art, finding new bars you can return to and hearing some fascinating history.
These tours fill up fast, but while many of the dates are booked out, I did manage to secure a ticket. And I noticed new tours have been added for Dec 5,12,14, 21.
If you do have to join a waitlist, they will let you know when spots become available.
