FREE entry and entertainment, tasty tipples, moreish morsels
The Regatta Hotel is a Brisbane architectural and entertainment icon. But who knew that its humble and self-effacing loading zone occasionally morphs into a super laneway space (a bit like Clark Kent and Superman, I suppose) for culinary and quaffing events? From 25 to 27 May 2018 you're invited to savour the flavours of more than fifty international and local wines at Laneway Vineyard, and (thank God) you won't have to wear underpants over your tights!
Famous for its delicate, curved cast iron balustrading, the heritage-listed Regatta Hotel has occupied its choice location overlooking Coronation Drive and Brisbane River since 1874. Damaged by the floods of 2011, the grand old lady of the river was extensively refurbished and re-opened in 2012 with an 'everything old is new again' look, which has proven very popular with patrons. Their many destination events have also added to the old girl's appeal.
This is the official festival launch party and tickets are currently a hot Brizzy item. For $65 you will be the first to taste some of the more than 50 local and international wines that will feature at the event. You will also have unlimited nibbling access to the bevy of gourmet bites from the hotel's Boatshed restaurant.
Saturday 26 May and Sunday 27 May from 2pm to 10pm
This part of the festival has FREE entry. Purchase a wine passport (ten samples for $30) and you can sip sauvignon blanc, gulp grenache or quaff a Queensland tipple to your heart's content. While the food menu has yet to be announced at the time of writing, all menu items will be $9 per serve and can be purchased at the cash bar throughout the event. It couldn't be simpler, or tastier. There will also be FREE live entertainment for your listening pleasure.
