Laneway Learning will be hosting informal, accessible classes from a diverse range of topics this April online. With most venues closed (at time of writing) due to COVID-19, you can still enjoy the classes online. The classes will be held live via the Zoom application (classes are not pre-recorded) and it will still be like their regular venue classes- engaging and interactive with small groups.

1. Feldenkrais: Free the Neck with Ralph
When: Monday, 6 April 2020: 12:15pm-1:15pm
Cost: $9
Details: Get a safe and easy fox for neck tension and stiffness using ingenious Feldenkrais movement exercises. The class will explain the principles of the Feldenkrais Method, then apply them to safe exercises to free up the neck, head and shoulders.
What You Need: A chair and Yourself!



2. Doodling for Relaxation
When: Monday, 6 April 2020: 6:15pm-7:30pm
Cost: $9
Details: Be guided through the creation of several more complex patterns, primarily how to work with grids and matrixs, how to create them, how to play with and bend them.
What You Need: Paper and your favourite pens.



3. Living Fearlessly
When: Monday, 6 April 2020: 7:45pm-9pm
Cost: $9
Details: The class will teach you the three types of fears that everyone has and how they can impact in sneaky ways and the absolute antidote to fear- how to access and use it on demand.
What You Need: No tools or materials required.



4. Vintage Burlesque Workout
When: Tuesday, 4 April 2020: 12:45pm-1:45pm
Cost: $9
Details: The class will show you original 50s burlesque moves: the bump 'n' grind, shimmies, undulations, glove and stocking peels, teases, reveals, and much more.
What You Need: Your sexiest 'Work at Home' outfit and heels if you feel like it.



5. Learn to Make Sauerkraut
When: Tuesday, 7 April 2020: 6:15pm-7:30pm
Cost: $11
Details: Sauerkraut is suprisinely simple and fun to make, and in this class you will get an overview of the process including a hands-on demonstration of each step, learn about fermentation, learn the benefits of fermented food for your gut and your health, and more.
What You Need: See website for ingredients list. Utensils- knife, chopping board, large mixing bowl, flat ended rolling pin or something similar to push the kraut down into the jar, and a clean 1 litre widemouth jar with lid.

6. How to "Wrestle A Pig": Better Arguments with Unreasonable People
When: Tuesday, 7 April 2020: 7:45pm-9pm
Cost: $9
Details: This class will be a fun introduction to conflict resolution theory, masterclass on new ethics-driven approach to understanding and persuading your opponents, and the opportuntity to practice these new skills.
What You Need: No tools or materials required.

7. Feldenkrais: Natural Facelift
When: Wednesday, 8 April 2020: 12:15pm-1:15pm
Cost: $9
Details: The class will cover getting to know the anatomy of the face, learn a simple self massage, movement lesson for the forehead, eyes and mouth, and home exercises for ongoing self care.
What You Need: A chair and Yourself!



8. Upcycled Rug Making
When: Wednesday, 8 April 2020: 6:15pm-7:30pm
Cost: $9
Details: You will learn how to make your own t-shirt yarn out of old t-shirts, how to use this yarn to make rugs, crochet, knit, macrame, and do all sorts of other crafts, learn three different ways of using them to make rugs: braiding, frills and weaving.
What You Need: Few old t-shirts or rags and scissors.



9. Make Vegan 'Cheese'
When: Wednesday, 8 April 2020: 7:45pm-9pm
Cost: $11
Details: The ckas will introduce you to the nuts and bolts of vegan cheese making, learn how to make up to two vegan cheese varieites from scratch, get recipes for all cheeeses presented, and suggestions on how to put together a beautiful cheese board.
What You Need: See website for ingredients list, blender, bowl, pot, whisk, spatula, stove top & general kitchen equipment.



10. Inner Warrior Yoga
When: Thursday, 9 April 2020: 12:15pm-1:15pm
Cost: $9
Details: You will go through an introduction to inner warrior yoga with a rane of subtle flowing movements, deep breath-work and postures, dynamic strengthening holds, body rotations and stretches to tone the body, release tightness in the hips, and working out the pelvic floor.
What You Need: Yoga mat and a peaceful place.



11. Up Your Insta-game: Instagram Tips And Tricks
When: Thursday, 9 April 2020: 6:15pm-7:30pm
Cost: $9
Details: The class will cover the basics on using the platform for business or personal branding, how to plan, manage and optimise your Instagram strategies, how to curate a cohesive profile, how to grow and engage with your followers, hashtag strategies and research, and tips and tricks.
What You Need: No tools or material required.

12. Telling Stories Through Creative Writing
When: Thursday, 9 April 2020: 7:45pm-9pm
Cost: $9
Details: You will learn how to generate ideas through freewriting, journaling and observation, how to ask better questions, basic interview technique, and write a short feature piece.
What You Need: No tools or materials required.

13. Mindful Doodling
When: Tuesday, 14 April 2020: 6:15pm-7:30pm
Cost: $9
Details: The class will guide you through the creation of various patterns, begin your own journey of developing your own "pattern vocabulary" that can then utilise to create your own mini works of art and your own meditation escape. The class will also help you to achieve the wonderful Zen-like meditation state.
What You Need: Paper and your favourite pens.



14. Uncommon Sense: Practical Ethics
When: Wednesday, 15 April 2020: 7:45pm-9pm
Cost: $9
Details: The class will feature four practical tools and two methods and answer all these questions, and more.
What You Need: Paper and pen to take notes.

15. The Secret Language of Dogs
When: Thursday, 16 April 2020: 7:45pm-9pm
Cost: $9
Details: The class will teach you the history and changing role of dogs in our world, discover how dogs communicate using their senses and body language, gain tips about how you can interact with dogs, and more.
What You Need: Paper and pen to take notes.
