Join in the fun of Lane Cove Rotary Fair on Sunday 14 October 2018 from 9 AM to 4 PM. The fair is in the Lane Cove Village Shopping Precinct, Longueville Road, Lane Cove Plaza and Burns Bay Road. The Rotary's major fundraiser for the year, the fair is run by the Rotary Club, and supported by the Council. Committed to serving humanity, working together locally and internationally, the Rotary is about connecting people and initiatives to make projects happen, and well deserve our support.
Aside from 100 market stalls with interesting goods, food stalls, entertainment and the Rotary's famous BBQ, this year there's going to be a 'Busk Off' at the fair. Amateur musos will make the Plaza come alive, as they compete and make their musical talents known. Winners of the busk off will be decided on their ability to perform to a high standard, how they engage with the audience, that they are visually and musically engaging, shows versatility and confidence within a performance, and of course one that stands out above all other performances on the day.
At the same time, on the same day, Sustainability Lane, an annual event organised by Lane Cove Council will take place between 9am and 4pm. There'll be an exciting lineup of stalls and entertainment for the kids, with sustainability experts on hand ready to talk to you about home energy efficiency, understanding electricity bills, composting, cleaning without chemicals and reducing reliance on plastics. Take the free shuttle bus which will also take you to the fair, so bring the whole family and be inspired by all the good things happening in our community. Choose from Bus Route 1, 2 and 3 to get you where you want to go.
With lots happening at this amazing fundraiser fair, volunteers are needed to sell raffle tickets work on the BBQ, guide elderly patrons to the bus and other event activities. If you're interested, let the rotary know by registering. If you need community service hours for school, this is a great way to earn it, while you help the Rotary at the same time.
