If you've got a child who is 10 to 16 years old, here's a fabulous holiday offer that you won't want to miss.

PaddleNSW and Lane Cove River Kayakers (LCRK) are holding the first ever school holiday "Come and Try Paddling" camp in January 2016.

Not only will the kids be challenged as they learn to paddle well and safely in a kayak, they'll have tons of fun and adventure as they enjoy this great water sport and make new friends on one of Sydney's most beautiful waterways.

And if that's not enough to whet your appetite, here are 10 top reasons why paddling is the best holiday activity:

1. It's good for you – paddling provides a mix of aerobic exercise and upper body conditioning;
2. You can get close to nature and see sights only accessible from the water;
3. It's full of adventure - you might see some of the fish beneath you or wildlife on the banks of a river;

5. Once you know how to paddle a kayak, you can use it for countless other activities including fishing, camping and transportation;
