If you've got a child who is 10 to 16 years old, here's a fabulous holiday offer that you won't want to miss.
PaddleNSW and Lane Cove River Kayakers (LCRK) are holding the first ever school holiday "Come and Try Paddling" camp in January 2016.
Not only will the kids be challenged as they learn to paddle well and safely in a kayak, they'll have tons of fun and adventure as they enjoy this great water sport and make new friends on one of Sydney's most beautiful waterways.
2. You can get close to nature and see sights only accessible from the water; 3. It's full of adventure - you might see some of the fish beneath you or wildlife on the banks of a river; 4. It's relaxing and is one of the most effective stress relievers; 5. Once you know how to paddle a kayak, you can use it for countless other activities including fishing, camping and transportation;
6. You can paddle with pals - it's a great social activity to make new friends and build on friendships; 7. It can be a competitive sport - as well as a great recreational activity, you can also compete in paddling races; 8. You'll be cool - on a hot day, there's nothing more refreshing than ocean spray or river splashes while paddling;
9. It's an activity for young and old so can be enjoyed across generations;
and... [drum roll]...
10. It's pure good fun - as well as being great exercise, relaxing, adventurous and a whole lot more, the essential reason to paddle is that it's full of fun!
So, get your kids paddling this school holiday. The only requirements are that they meet the age criteria (10 to 16) and can swim... oh, and have a sense of fun and adventure!
