Ever felt a sense of achievement when you managed to form something new and valuable? This phenomenon is actually called creativity. According to one of the theories , it is all about process, product, person and place.

Some argue that as children we are all creative, however in adulthood we place barriers between our creativity and outside world. However, the good thing is that it is never too late to learn something new, especially if it is related to arts.

For the last couple of weeks Parramatta Art Society Studio has been running landscape classes for beginners in oils and acrylics for adults. You do not need to have any prior knowledge of painting, and you do not even have to know how to hold a brush. This absolute beginners class is designed to introduce you to the world of oils painting and starts with absolute basics, and as it is known good fundamentals are essential to solid structure.

The classes are conducted by artist Christopher Vidal who is also a member of Parramatta Art Society and regularly participates in exhibitions around Sydney. This course runs every Wednesday 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm at CPAS studio in Parramatta, and new course start date is now 29th July 2015.

Christopher Vidal will now also have classes running at the second location and booking period is currently open. These new classes for beginners will run every Friday 10:30 am - 12:30 pm at the MUSE Gallery located in Castle Hill.

The course will cover colour theory, how to mix colours, colour value, information about various painting tools and colours available in market, linear & aerial perspective, painting composition, painting trees, skies (sunsets), mountains, clouds, water and water reflections. The duration of the course is 8 weeks and each session runs for 2 hours once a week. The cost would be AU$ 25 per session or AU$ 200 paid ahead for 8-week course.

Do not wait to get creative and discover your inner potential. Producing artistic images and artistic expressions is hard work which gives a tremendous sense of achievement once you hold an artwork in your hands and can proudly mention it is actually you who has done it.
