A sense of place
Landing is the latest group exhibition at the Side Gallery, Red Hill. The Gallery invited some local artists to respond to the theme of Meanjin / Brisbane. And so many stories are told on the one wall through seventy-one works from twenty-five artists.
There's a snapshot of the typical suburban sports field with its white picket fence, a paint-splattered breeze block, a detailed illustration of grave markers from Toowong cemetery and even a migratory Eastern Curlew on a perch, a long way from its Russian home.
