Why would anyone go camping, especially in 57km winds, rain and cold? That question also crossed my mind, until we started putting up the tent.

You see, camping is a way to just shake up your routine. So often we get comfortable with the same things like a nice warm bed, a bathroom in the house, a kitchen, a T.V., etc. Sometimes those things take over our lives! All of a sudden we race home to watch a T.V. program, get up to check Facebook, or answer the phone while you are driving. By taking a step into the "wild side" makes us appreciate a few of the more important things in life, like family.

can be found about one hour north of Perth. It is a stunning location right off the shore front. It has a number of permanent caravan sites, however there are a number of open locations where you can either pitch a tent, or park your mobile home.

One of the notable things about this park is that the sites have grass. Grass, believe it or not, cannot always be found on tent sites. So, having some soft, luscious grass is a wonderful comfort.

The bathrooms are about a 1 minute walk, which include clean toilets and showers. There is also a small laundry, a handmade BBQ and a proper tire swing. Of course, if you are looking at having a barbecue, there is a gas one right on the beach front, which has an uninterrupted view of the sea. It makes one beautiful sunset experience.

Service at the Caravan Park is exceptional. It is nice to be greeted by a friendly face that is happy to help you find the right location for a tent. Believe me, he chose well and we were happy to weather the storm without holding onto the tent strings with all our life.

Of course, if you want a coffee and freshly baked goods, there is a café just at the entrance to the park. That means you can take on the wild and have a little comfort of your everyday life. After all, you don't have to give up all you comfort's for this experience.

Bookings are essential as they are busy over the holiday and Christmas period. However, there may be a few spots open, or cancellation. After all, for a wild experience, it is only 1 hour north of Perth. So what are you waiting for?
