The food scene in Adelaide is getting better every day. There is another new patisserie in town that takes you to another world. L'Amour Patisserie located just off Chinatown has blown us away with its all-white crisp background dotted with pink and gold furniture. It's a dream come true for Instagram lovers.
There are 3 seated areas. The barstools facing the street let you watch the pedestrians pass by. The comfortable armchairs will be perfect for a date. The bench seats and chairs on the other side will be good for groups.
The bench area gives you front seat to watch the street scene.
L'Amour Patisserie offers novelty desserts. Every dessert on the counter is a work of art & creativity. The unusual flavour on offer includes oreo, matcha (green tea), red bean, Ovaltine, lychee and rose.
We ordered 3 desserts to share today. The chestnut & black tea dessert had a strong tea flavour balanced with the sweetness from chestnut. The sponge layer is light and fluffy.
This coconut dessert looks exactly like a coconut drink with a chocolate coconut looking shell. The coconut flesh is white chocolate mousse. The fun part is that we can drink the inner core of the dessert - the coconut custard from the straw. We are amazed by the details of the coconut shell. It looks like the real one.
The lychee & rose mousse is another surprise. This dumpling looking dessert is served in a bamboo steamer. When you cut open the dessert, the lychee filling is revealed just like what you expect that fillings inside a dumpling. The lychee flavour complements well with the rose mousse. It's definitely a summer delight.
