Lammermoor beach is situated south of Yeppoon on the Capricorn Coast beside the Coral Sea overlooking Keppel Bay. It's about 45 minutes drive from Rockhampton or 8 hours and 30 minutes from Brisbane. is a long sandy beach, about 2.5 km long (1366mi), with some big rocks at the back of the beach that is pretty awesome to climb on. A lot of people use this rock area for fishing, especially during high tide. The beach is backed by a casuarina-covered foredune. The beach has a relatively steep high tide beach that widens at the southern end where a small creek drains across the beach.





Lammermoor is part of the traditional lands of the Yirandhali peoples and takes its name from a pastoral station, established in 1863 by Robert Christison. Lammermoor locality area has experienced phenomenal growth since the mid-2010s with residential development and also some holiday accommodations.




The Scenic Highway is the main drive for locals and tourists which passes by the beach of Lammermoor. The best access to Lammermoor beach is through the car park of Lioness Park. But there are also some other small access points along Scenic Highway Drive to Lammermoor beach as well.





Besides fishing, you can do swimming in this area, although have to be careful with seasonal jellyfish. Statue Bay, at the southern end of Lammermoor beach, provides easy access for launching kayaks and canoes. There is a chance to do surfing too around this area.



If you came to Lammermoor beach through Lioness Park, you could find ample of parking spots here. Lioness Park has some picnic tables, free gas BBQ area, an amenities block and also showers facilities. Sometimes, there is a coffee van park at Lioness Park car park. Just remember that vehicles are not allowed to be driven on Lammermoor beach. You can bring your pooch here but it has to be on a leash all the time between 8am to 4pm.
