Great coffee in an unusual location
Ever had that moment where you're totally surprised to find something where it is? I had that with Lamkin Lane Espresso Bar in Caloundra.

I mean, a cute little coffee shop was the last thing I expected to stumble across as I walked down the back streets of Caloundra. It's like they say, you shouldn't judge a book by its cover.

Welcome to Lamkin Lane Espresso Bar

It's hard to miss the espresso bar. It's a beautiful blue building right behind busy Bulcock Street in Caloundra. It seemed so out of place where it was - there's really nothing else like it around. Aesthetically it's the most beautiful building on the street.

There were a couple of great spots to sit outside the espresso bar, but there's also a lovely, homely feeling inside. If you've come here for a meal, you're going to be disappointed. Coffee and tea is the name of the game at Lamkin Lane, and they do it well. Very well. They have a whole variety of blends from all around the world. Just ask them to explain a bit to you what makes them so unique.

One piccolo, thanks.

Tim Adams, the owner, should be a familiar name to any coffee connoisseur on the Sunshine Coast. He's been recognised as one of Australia's top baristas. He's a three time Australian Barista Champion, you can't get much better than that. Tim also owns his own coffee van, which hits up major Coast businesses during the working week. So if you're lucky enough you can enjoy one of his coffees Monday to Friday and still manage to fit one in on the weekend.

Lovely blue exterior - it stands out in what I otherwise a bland part of town

Lamkin Lane Espresso Bar is a lovely little find. Really you can't go wrong with a place owned by one of Australia's best baristas.
