I was feeling a little bit peckish while browsing around Highpoint Shopping Centre, so I decided to stop for a quick and light bite to eat. When I entered the food court on level 3 (near Target), I was bombarded with so many choices.
Laksa King use to have these really yummy pork and vegetable dumplings. However, for the last couple of months they have stopped selling them. I am not really sure why they stopped selling them, as they are a very popular item on their menu. To my surprise they had started selling them again.
As I mentioned, the dumplings are pork and vegetable. After taking a bite, the vegetables inside look like a little bite of chives. They are steamed, so the outside still remains soft. They also appear to be pan fired on one side, as one side is a little tanned and not as soft as the other side. Each dumpling is $1.40, or 3 for $3.50. When you order, you are asked if you want 'dumpling sauce'; which is this sweet soy sauce. This sauce really compliments the pork dumplings.
Laksa King also sells a variety of other Malaysian cuisines. They have a variety of noodle dishes with vegetables and either beef, pork or chicken. These noodle dishes are cooked in black bean, sweet soy or sweet chili sauce. I would recommend these dishes for dinner, as they appear very filling from the servings the other customers were ordering. They also sell a variety of Malaysian soups. The soups look delicious. Most of there soups are made from either a chicken or spicy broth and contain a variety of vegetables and either chicken, pork, beef or seafood.
I would highly recommend these dumplings from Laksa King, if you are a fan of dumplings and want something quick, light and cheap to eat.
