Lake Parramatta is located in 60 hectares of bushland nestled in North Parramatta and is a truly hidden gem.The lake is home to various native animals and fauna and some caves from aboriginal inhabitants still remain today.
The picnic grounds are equipped with free BBQs, picnic tables, a great children's playground that encourages children to seek hidden objects, amenities, and off street parking.
As of January 2015 feeding the ducks in lake parramatta is prohibited.
The reason is domestic white ducks are dumped there when no longer wanted.
They interbreed with the native ducks and pollute the lake. Also now the lake is up to standard for swimming the council want to maintain it. The domestic ducks are currently being removed by parramatta council.
Be sure to go swimming there when it gets warmer it's great!
