Lake Moondarra Fishing Classic is hosted by Mount Isa Fish Stocking Group and uses this event to raise funds for re-stocking local impoundments with native fish species. With a lot of categories to be won, all you need to do is to catch the biggest fish in the lake. The Queensland Recreational Fishing Rules are to be complied with at all times during this competition and only 'Legal' sized fish are eligible to be weighed in. Night fishing is allowed for Friday and Saturday and all safety gear and lighting equipment is required.
Lake Moondarra Fishing Classic is not only promising three days of non-stop action, jam-packed with fishing, fun and excitement, but also a lot more activities for the whole family. There will be entertainment including live bands, market stalls by the Overlander Markets and a fireworks display. You can also join in beach volleyball, yabby races, pluka-duk, the lure casting competition and DIY Dragon Boat Regatta.
