As the seasons change, the trees burst into bloom, showcasing spectacular flowers that create a picturesque setting.

At the heart of it all is Moogerah Dam, which collects water from Reynolds Creek, supplying potable water to the towns of Boonah and Ipswich, as well as irrigation for the fertile farming areas of the Fassifern Valley.

Bauhinia variegata, commonly known as the orchid tree, is a stunning flowering plant in the legume family, Fabaceae. Its beautiful, vibrant flowers make it a popular choice for ornamental landscaping, and it is native to a region stretching from China through Southeast Asia to the Indian subcontinent

Constructed in 1961, the dam features a spillway that channels excess water when it reaches capacity. Stretching 219 metres long, the dam wall includes a path along its top, allowing visitors to walk its length. This path also serves as the entry point to the trail leading to the summit of Mount Edwards, making it a perfect starting point for those seeking adventure in the stunning landscape.

Women of Fassifern Monument

The monument stands as a heartfelt tribute to the women of the Fassifern District, a 4-metre semi-circular altar crafted from local trachyte rock. Its design, symbolizing "protection and welcome," invites visitors to reflect on the strength and resilience of these women. Probably, originally the installation had water which flowed flows gracefully from a fountain atop a small stone cairn, cascading into a pool before meandering toward the lake. This journey of water symbolizes its purpose: to nourish and prosper the lands of Fassifern, echoing the enduring spirit of its remarkable women.
