is a gorgeous place to walk around, but it is also a photographer's dream. Here you'll get the opportunity to snap Mt Cook, Perfectly reflected in the dark waters of the lake. Take the time out to go on a relaxing walk, and then release your inner photographer and try and get that perfect shot.

The waters are so dark and this is how the reflection is created, and New Zealand's highest peaks Mt Cook and Mt Tasman just happen to be perfectly positioned so that the lake captures their image. It is a spectacular sight, and even more so when you capture it in a photo to keep forever.

To get to the lake you just have to cross over the Clearwater River suspension bridge, and follow the walking track . Surrounded by towering trees and native plants the walk itself is worth your time. It is a easy walk that people of all ages can enjoy, and you'll get to relax while you're enjoying the great outdoors.

When you're done you can head back to the start and enjoy a break at the Matheson Cafe . The cafe caters for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as having cakes and pastries if you're just after a quick meal. It is a great way to end your time at the lake. You can also spend this time browsing through the ReflectioNZ Gallery to see some unique jewellery, artwork, and souvenirs.

is about a 4 hour drive from Queenstown, so you can head there on a day trip or spend a weekend away exploring the surrounding area including Franz Joseph and Fox Glacier .
