Memorial Arch

Names engraved on pillars
In the heart of the town is a most tranquil reserve called Lake Marma Reserve. Lake Marma is recognised as one of the most picturesque lakes in the Wimmera region. This 20ha lake was once a water source for the early settlers but is now a beautiful parkland.

Sprott fountain
At the entrance of the reserve is a very impressive memorial arch. It commemorates those who served in World Wars One and Two and the Vietnam War. This white painted concrete arch has four pillars with names of those who served engraved on them. On top of the arch is a bronze soldier statue.

Rotunda
Behind the arch is a fountain called the Sprott Fountain built as a memorial to W.R.Sprott, the last manager of the Colonial Bank in Murtoa.

Sheltered bbq
Surrounding the lake are spacious lush green lawns for picnics. There are boardwalks on the edge of the lake with chairs for visitors to enjoy the view. There is also a covered BBQ area, a big rotunda and a playground.
There is a walking loop around the lake and spots for fishing activities.
