Views of the mountains and the Jetty

Lake Illawarra is undoubtedly the place to be! You will be outdoors in the fresh air, getting in touch with nature and just relaxing. It is located about an hour and a half away from Sydney.

How peaceful & relaxing...

It is situated in the Wollongong and Port Kembla region and covers an area of around thirty three square metres with a depth of 3.7 metres and approximately 9.5km long and 5.5 km wide.

It consists of around nine bays and two creeks that flow into the lake and one rivulet.

Another Jetty

It is located between the Illawarra escarpment and the Pacific Ocean with water flowing in; being both fresh (from the escarpment) and salty (from the ocean tides).

Pelicans on the morning search for brekkie...

There is a boat shed nearby where you are able to hire a boat and catamaran or of course, you can bring your own and enjoy some water sports. Or why not go fishing; apparently the lake is popular for prawning!

What a way to start your morning...

It is such a lovely place for you to sit back relax and of course do not forget to enjoy having a picnic here at the Reddall Reserve on the foreshore at the lake. You can even experience a romantic moment by finding a peaceful private spot around the lake!

A romantic spot for a picnic under the trees... and what an amazing view!

There are amenities, kiosk and a children's playground near the Reddall Reserve.

Bridge to the other side...
