Don your stripy socks and party with Lah-Lah
It's all about stripy socks and big band music for kids this Christmas, as Lah-Lah and her crew travel from the East to the West Coast of Australia, and throw in a visit to the ACT, too this festive season.
Lah-Lah's Big Live Band reached to fame in the hit ABC TV Kids show of the same name. Lah-Lah, famed for her beautiful opera-esque voice is accompanied by four live band members, Buzz playing the double bass (the double bass has a name, and she is called Lola!), Squeezy Sneezy on the accordion and piano, Mister Saxophone on the saxophone and Tom Tom on the drums.
Lah-Lah's catchy songs encourage children to 'brush their teeth', 'sing it loud' and 'shake it like this' in easy listening tunes which infuse jazz, pop and classical music.
The history behind Lah-Lah's Big Live Band is an inspiration. Lead singer Tina Harris (Lah-Lah), trained with the Sydney Opera Company before leaving to raise her two daughters. Her husband Mark Harris, fellow band member Buzz, started entertaining children with their musical talent. After Lah-Lah debuted at the Seymour Centre in Sydney in 2009, the band went on to play at the Sydney Opera House. A contract Nickelodeon soon followed, which saw the production of the colourful TV show Lah-Lah's Big Adventures. The hit TV show that you and your kids are familiar with on ABC for Kids, has become widely loved throughout Australia and the rest of the world. Every step of the way, Tina and Mark Harris were told their dreams were not possible, yet here they are on their second live tour Lah-Lah's Stripy Christmas, and a new signed contract with Sony.
Lah-Lah's intimate shows are far different from the rest. Not only are photographs and videos encouraged, but Lah-Lah asks you to share the love on social media. During every live show, Buzz takes a selfie of the band with the crowd, which Lah-Lah shares on social media for all of you to see. Lah-Lah's shows are fantastic. Lah-Lah's Big Band music is infectious and toe-tappingly good. Expect your kids to bop and stomp about - don't forget your stripy socks!

What makes Lah-Lah's shows even more special, is the opportunity for everyone to meet the band after each show. Children can have their photographs taken with Lah-Lah and the band, and are encouraged to have a play on one of the instruments.
"The first time your child touches a musical instrument is a special moment, and we want to be there to experience that moment with you" says Lah-Lah (Tina), at the end of each show.
