Introduce your dog to Lady Moustache
Often, a big factor for choosing a cafe to brunch at is whether they have an outdoor area for dogs.

Lady Moustache in Yarraville proved they definitely had that with a (no-longer active) Instagram entitled "dogsofladymos".

It was a nice sunny day and the cafe has outdoor tables at the front. Service was swift and the waiter also gave our dog many pats.

The standard menu

They were quick to take our coffee orders and returned with the standard menu and specials.

Caffeine fix

It was refreshing to see a breakfast menu with various influences, with the country listed next to each dish. This included Chile, Venezuela, Colombia and more.

The weekend specials

There were still a handful of standard brunch dishes, but the Latin American influence definitely dominated the options, which I think is great to stand out in today's crowded Melbourne brunch scene.

It ensured we deliberated for a while before we both finally decided to go with one of the specials.

My friend got the Honey, leek, mushroom and lemon zest scrambled eggs ($19) whilst I went with the hearty Colombian staple breakfast of cornbread, rice, beans, fried eggs and of course - extra chorizo ($23)!

Trying to keep the food away from the dog!

The dishes were carefully presented, filling and flavoursome. We also appreciated that our server came out to ask us feedback on the food as the chef wanted to hear the verdict on his specials.

Happy dog

The place looks quaint and cute even though we didn't get to go inside, so maybe next time we'll visit again without the dog. The outdoor area at the front isn't big, but luckily a long table was free so we had ample space for us and the dog on a nice sunny day.

Meanwhile, check out this fence someone started painting whilst we were eating brunch. It was finished shortly after!
