Tea Room

Located along the Princes Highway, Bunyip, it's easy to miss this unassuming cottage. I had passed it several times on the way to Philip Island before I finally made a reservation, bringing visiting friends for lunch recently. We love the overall experience, from reasonably price delicious food, friendly service and old world charm ambience. The tea room is decorated with lavender inspired theme, from the table cloths, curtains and menu.

Simple Country Food

I can't wait to visit again to try out their scones which was reviewed by someone as "to die for".

Gift and Nursery Shop

After a fulfilling meal, we spent sometime browsing their eclectic gift shop and nursery, filled with antiques, collectables and giftware. Again, things are reasonably price and tempting to buy.

Collectables

It would be nice to walk through their cottage garden in summer when lavenders are blooming.

Do note that they have a strict 'No Pram' policy in their tea room due to majority of their customers are elderly/disabled, an unobstructed passage to toilets and walkways must be kept clear at all times. They have highchairs and a bassinet available upon request.

This looks wonderful. I an just see myself sitting at that table gazing out the window. PS. Your map isn;t on the right spot, I suspect it is picking up a Princes Hwy address in the city.

I've been to Lady Lavender several times and it's always a pleasant experience. The food is delicious, fresh and beautifully served. The decor is very pretty, too, right up to kitsch and past it - but don't we all like a bit of kitsch once in a while? Good stop for a break if you're going further into Gippsland. Look out for the Gumbuya Park sign on the left because it's the best marker before you get to the Lady Lavender sign.
