Lady Lamington is a new playground for an eclectic mix of Brisbanites. Whether you are looking for a great coffee on the go, or a place to wind down after a hectic week, Lady Lamington has something for everyone.

Named after the wife of the 8th Governor of Queensland, Lady Lamington is situated in front of an old church and cannot be missed with its visually eye-catching array of Veuve Clicquot orange umbrellas meticulously placed on the venue's balcony. Visually the site acts in almost transporting its customer to a Euro-French inspired café.

Now, to the food. Lady Lamington splits its fresh decadent menu into Acts 1, 2 and 3. Act 1 is of course breakfast which is served from 7am, 7 days a week. This menu is reasonably priced ($9-$20 on average) and caters to those with an experimental palate with such mouth watering options as Poached pear french toast & ricotta to Seasonal fruit w elderflower & ginger beer sorbet. If that doesn't tickle your fancy, there are culinary staples such as croissants, pastries, poached eggs, and granola, with of course, a tasty Lady Lamington twist.

Act 2 & 3 combine entrée, main and dessert (make sure you book!). Mains consist of Confit duck, Steak and Pork Belly. A note: dessert is served throughout the day, I know this as I met a friend for coffee at 2pm, which turned into us indulging in Peanut butter parfait w chocolate mousse, salted caramel, biscuit & brittle (pictured). For just $14, I highly recommend dessert lovers stay for this. It is delicious. There is also a Lemon tart w meringue, shortbread, orange & mascarpone sherbet that will make your taste buds tingle.

If you are looking to wind down, or get the party started, so to speak, then Lady Lamington also provides an area to socialise upstairs on the balcony with its Veuve Clicquot décor. If it is a drink you are after, you cannot go past their $30 jugs, with my personal favourite being their Pimm's Jug (pictured). There is something about mixed fruits and liquid gold that makes me reminisce on all things good.

The staff are fantastic and cater for most; if you don't know what cocktail you are after, the bar guys will ask you your favourite ingredients and will invent your own signature cocktail, which will have you coming back time and time again.
