Fish reserve, Lady Denman Heritage Complex

The Lady Denman Heritage Complex, including the Jervis Bay Museum of Science and the Sea, is run by volunteers under the direction of the Museum Director and Board.

The Lady Denman Heritage Complex (formerly known as the Lady Denman Maritime Museum) is located in Huskisson on the South Coast of New South Wales, 30 minutes drive from Nowra, 2.5 hours drive from Sydney.

The complex is home to a fish reserve. "The Pond" is a gazetted reserve, managed by the Heritage Complex and the New South Wales Department of Fisheries.

Fish that can be seen at the reserve include tailor, snapper, kingfish, bream, mullet, flathead, flounder, stingrays and octopus.

[ADVERT]Fishing is not allowed at the reserve but visitors can purchase fish food for $1 a bag. Feeding the fish here is a very popular activity with children, fish swarm to the surface and battle with each other and with resident ducks for food.

This is a great free activity which keeps children occupied and happy for hours.

The site has several picnic tables and a large grassed area, why not pack lunch and chill out for a few hours?
