Great news! Ladro, the well-loved and well-known pizza restaurant is turning 15 (where did the time go?). To celebrate this auspicious occasion, the team are checking in for a limited time and collaborating as pizza masters (and all things Italian) in residence, at Collins Kitchen, the Grand Hyatt Melbourne signature restaurant.
There will be all the favourite pizza flavours which are popular today, but also some blast-from-the-past Ladro favourites such as Pizza 4 Otto (bufala, speck, anchovies, dressed rocket) and Lazio (fior di latte, carciuga, parsley, and lemon). If looking for a new flavour, then you should try Bianco E Nero, the pizza base made with activated charcoal and topped with burratta, San Daniele prosciutto, cherry tomatoes and dressed rocket.
But it's not only pizza that will be on offer, other Italian specials too - black rice risotto, pumpkin gnocchi, and pappardelle goat ragout are just some of these mouth-watering delicacies that you can try. The dishes can be complemented by wines made from Italian variety grapes on tap - Prosecco, Pinot Grigio, Rose, and Sangiovese. Renowned for its desserts station, Collins Kitchen will continue the Italian theme with a Gelateria, tiramisu, bombolini Italian donuts and of course, Sicilian cannoli too.
This specially curated Italian-themed, Ladro Checks In experience awaits you from Tuesday 18th September until Thursday 29th November. It is available for lunch Monday-Friday and for dinner Saturday and Sunday.
For its opening Ladro Checks In, FREE scoops of gelato will be served from12 pm on Tuesday 18th September to the first 100 people to come by the Collins Kitchen converted "La Gelateria" bar. Eight flavours will be available including chocolate royale, vegan coconut, raspberry sorbet and fig, honey and pistachio.
