Ladies Night of Track and Bike Skills 2014

Life is about the journey - some roads are not always what they seem but you sure learn a great deal from them!
Riding on the road can be very stressful. You have cars passing, traffic lights to stop at, other cyclists to worry about and while this is all happening, you have to avoid the pot hole you are about to ride into!

Track Cycling WA recognises these stresses. They also know that once you gain the confidence to handle a bicycle, that cycling on the road becomes enjoyable. And, the only thing you will worry about, once you have the confidence to handle a bike, is becoming a little fitter and faster.

A track bike does not have gears or brakes which makes it the perfect basic bicycle to learn these skills. You don't have to worry about changing gears or braking. Plus, by riding inside on a velodrome means you don't have to worry about cars or pot holes. You can ride your bike and learn bicycle handling skills at your own pace.

Skills Track Cycling WA plans to cover are:

Riding behind another cyclists
Riding in a bunch with other cyclists
Stopping safely
Start Riding safely (without riding into someone)
Looking over your shoulder (great to see if there are cars)
Riding with one hand on the handle bars (great if you need to reach for some water)

It is recommended that you wear running shoes (if you do not have cycling shoes), a comfortable top, shorts (cycling shorts if you have), helmet and gloves. Track Cycling WA have a limited amount of helmets, so if you don't have a helmet, please let them know on the booking form.

This is one of the more popular nights, so book while you can so that you are not disappointed.
