I hate to give my age away, but macramé was very big in the day! I think my Mum still has a macramé hanging in her bathroom, over the bath, with a ferny pot plant.

Macramé is a very 'vintage', 'retro' craft that utilises knotting the textile rather than weaving or knitting it. Apparently, once you master the basics, your creations can become quite diversified - from wall hangings to 3D hanging structures that hold things like pots, bowls and plants. (Secretly, I suspect my Mum's age-old macramé might actually fall into the 3D structure - who would have thought!)

Sandy Littlemore, is the facilitator of the Ladies Night Beginners Macramé Workshop at Blooming Healthy Studio , and comes well qualified with a Diploma of Training. Sandy also has heaps of other extraordinary skills including Tarot and Angel Readings; Crystal Healing; Shakara Balancing; Reflexology and Kinesiology. Sounds like an evening with Sandy Littlemore could be a very interesting night indeed and surely, further enhanced with a glass of wine, bubbly and some nibbles.

First question is going to be: 'How much?'

The Ladies Night Beginners Macramé Workshop is $50, which includes a glass of wine or bubbles and nibbles.

Second question is going to be: 'If I attend the macramé Workshop, what can I expect?'

  • Basic macramé knotting techniques
  • Guidance to create a fabulous take-home macramé hanger
  • All materials for your creation are included in the ticket price
  • Refreshments - wine/bubbles and cheese

  • Every guest who attends the Ladies Night Beginners Macramé Workshop will have their very own show-'n-tell piece of macramé art to take home - in this instance a macramé pot hanger - and hopefully loads of inspiration to continue creating more fabulous pieces of macramé art at home.

When we lived in the Netherlands, once a week the 'girls' would get together to have a 'stitch and b..tch' class - i.e. we met for coffee and cake and brought our needlework along to enjoy a morning with friends. I think learning the art of macramé with friends and continuing a 'once-a-week' session in a friend's home, could be as much fun as our 'sewing' classes or the traditional 'Book Club', where more wine is enjoyed than books. What I'm saying is … just think about the creative possibilities … wink, wink, nudge, nudge!

Spaces to this fabulously creative macramé workshop are strictly limited, to ensure that every guest gets adequate tuition plus plenty of time to ask questions and receive feedback.

Full payment for the Ladies Night Beginners Macramé Workshop (that's $50) is required on booking, to secure your spot. The great news is that tickets are already on sale and can be purchased, by contacting 0410 634 262 or via blooming healthy.net here.

The Ladies Night Beginners Macramé Workshop sounds like a blooming lot of creative fun!
