Polo has been played in Western Australia for over a hundred years, moving to its current home at King's Meadow Polo Field, in Guildford thirty years ago.

Perth Polo Club hosts a number of tournaments throughout the season, with National and International level polo players regularly competing.

Womens' polo is a growth sport and Perth Polo Club is excited to be hosting the first ever Western Australian Ladies Cup womens' polo tournament here in Guildford. This event will be the first women only polo tournament in Western Australia and we hope the event will grow year by year attracting lady players from all over Australia and the rest of the world.

Four teams of four women will be battling it out on the polo field over two days to win the coveted inaugural Ladies Cup.

The event will take place on the weekend of 18/19 this February at Kingsmeadow Polo ground.

Perth Polo Club is a non-profit sporting organisation. Our fundraising efforts provide the Club with the resources to maintain Western Australia's only public polo field, provide facilities for participants and spectators, and host events and tournaments for members and the public to take part in and enjoy.

Perth Polo Club welcomes and encourages spectators to come and watch the action.

Refreshments and bar facilities are available on all match days, or guests are invited to bring a picnic and sit on the grass beneath a shady gum tree.

Polo isn't just a sport, it is a social gathering; a chance to get out on a nice day, enjoy the weather, and the company of friends and family.

Forget about what you've seen in the movies… polo is watched by all ages, races, and social positions.

While you are welcome to dress up, that is more typical during the major tournament weekends, such as the WA Open. You will be just as comfortable wearing whatever you would normally wear out on a hot weekend day; shorts and a T-shirt or a sundress are ideal.

Polo is an outdoor game, so remember those important summer necessities… sunblock, sunglasses, a hat, water, and make sure you find yourselves a nice shady spot under the gum trees!

You may want to bring a blanket or lawn chairs for seating. Bring your camera if you want to capture the action or binoculars to keep an eye on things at the other end of the field.

Cool drinks, tea and coffee, sandwiches and snacks are available for sale most tournament weekends at Kingsmeadow.

Polo tends to start on time, so you may want to get there early to allow time to get a good spot towards the centre of the field, get setup, and watch the teams warm up.

Please keep Kingsmeadow Polo Ground tidy. We ask that you help by cleaning up your area before you leave the field, placing all rubbish in the bins provided. Also, on windy days, please be cautious of papers, plates, or other items that could blow onto the field as these can startle or spook the horses and can be very dangerous.

Always remember to leave at least ten yards between you and the edge of the field, and never at the ends of the field

For everyone's safety, including their own, pets must be kept on a leash at all times. Likewise, with one eye at least on the game at all times, we recommend keeping the other eye on any children who come with you.

In addition to the game, if you are around the horses, please remember not to make any sudden movements or loud noises. Unless a rider or groom gives you the go ahead, it is always best to keep a safe distance. That said, please feel free to come by the trailers after the match to meet and chat with the players. Polo players are passionate about their sport, so you'll never find a better source of information.
