Australian actress and writer Jane Clifton and former resident will open the
Labassa Women exhibition on Sunday 1 May 2022.
Book your tickets now to hear Jane's hilarious tales of bohemian life within the Labassa Mansion in the 1970s.
The Labassa Women exhibition is part of the
Australian Heritage Festival by the National Trust and will run for eight days until Sunday 8 May with a special event on Sunday 15 May.
Sounds like a perfect gift for Mother's Day!
Labassa Mansion will open its doors to reveal the
National Trust's collection of costumes, décor, photos and untold stories of the many women residents who lived there over two centuries. Highlights include a recreation of an 1890 party, a 1970s party that spoofed a Shakespearean play (Midnight Summer's 'Scream') and a tribute to the glamorous Louise Lovely, star of the silver screen.
So dress up period style and grab your girlfriends, boyfriends, sisters, sons Mums and Dads and head to the Labassa Mansion in Caulfield to explore the fascinating stories of women who lived in the mansion.
If you like reading and research I highly recommend visiting the
Labassa Lives Journal online compiled by historian Vicki Shuttleworth.
The House of Dreams book written by Vicki Shuttleworth is also available for purchase and may be a great next read for your book club.
