Welcoming everyone to South America, right at the top, we find Venezuela. A Spanish spoken country famous by having the tallest waterfall in the world (Angel Falls), amazing scenery, also well-known by its beautiful women (seven Miss Universe, six Miss World, seven Miss International and two Miss Earth) and now, Venezuela is spreading all over the globe its culinary culture with their most iconic dish: Arepa
Arepas are healthy corn flour pockets, served with an array of different fillings: slow-cooked meat, beans, diverse types of cheese, pulled pork, chicken, plantain, and keep counting. An Arepa can be filled with almost everything, and you can combine as many fillings as you like. They are Gluten free and vegan/vegetarian suitable.
La Reina brings to your table gastronomy based on old family recipes. They apply the best traditional Venezuelan cooking techniques and use fresh ingredients, combined with different spices to delight your taste buds.
I tried a combination of beans, cheese and plantain. Every bite took me straight to Caracas (the capital), where in every corner you find an Arepa place.
The Arepa is part of Venezuela's cultural heritage and is considered a symbol of national gastronomy.
