La Quinta Mexican Cafe and Bar

After spending a lazy Sunday morning shopping, with no plans or commitments for the rest of the day, my partner and I spontaneously decided to drive to Bulimba to have lunch at La Quinta Mexican Cafe in Oxford Street.
Normally we would go to the usual haunts when we have a Mexican craving, Montezuma's,
Guzman Y Gomez etc, but after visiting for a work dinner the first time a few nights earlier, my partner assured me he now had a new favourite in the Mexican choices, which proved to be the same for me after eating there.
Situated in an ideal location on trendy Oxford Street, La Quinta provides this strange, but enjoyable, combination of relaxed but lively atmosphere. I'm someone who greatly values good customer service in restaurants, but rarely find it. At La Quinta there was not a single thing I could fault with their friendly service.
For meals, my partner ordered the Carne de res (beef enchiladas) and for myself the Beef Ribs La Quinta style. My partner is a huge fan of enchiladas and had tried many variations at different Mexican venues, but declares La Quinta's the best he has ever eaten.
While feeling regret initially at not ordering something more 'traditionally Mexican', this was quickly forgotten after tasting my delicious ribs. I normally avoid ribs when going out because there is so little meat on them you normally need to gnaw on the bones to get any off. Not La Quinta ribs, these were meaty, easy to remove from the bone ribs. Delicious.
For drinks, we both just settled for diet cokes, but had it not been a Sunday lunch and still needing to drive, we would have sampled one of their delicious sounding cocktails on their extensive menu.
In wrap up, we will definitely be going to La Quinta again in the future. We have agreed we will try to go with a group next time so we can make night of it and order from the banquet menus so we experience more of their delightful food.
