La Paleta, literally translated from the Spanish, means palette. In Perth it translates as fabulous Mexican inspired ice creams and icy poles created by Ami McDonald, under the La Paleta name.

Summer is still with us, so why not indulge your tastebuds with some Mexican concoctions that are handmade in Fremantle. Called La Paleta - or Mexican yumminess on a stick!
If you want to show your new flair for Spanish, why not show off - a "Paleta de Hiclo" mean a popsicle or ice cream bar and with so many delectable flavours on offer, there's something to suit everyone.

At the Old Bridge Cellars on 221 Queen Victoria Street, North Fremantle they have 6 varieties on offer; Toasted Coconut, Watermelon & Rose, Strawberry & Hibiscus, Cucumber & Chilli, Salted Caramel and Mexican Chocolate.

They are also sold most Sundays at the South Fremantle Farmer's Market and have become popular with those wanting a little something different at Summer soirees. So why not join in, at 4 dollars a pop this is one of the easiest way's to cool down and to taste a little piece of Mexico.
