Lovers of song and music are in for a musical treat with Art Song Perth's third 2015 concert on July 12 at Swanbourne.

Following on from two sold-out concerts in March and May, this latest in the series is titled La Nuit étoilée, which translates to The Starry Night.

The concert will feature sopranos Corinne Cowling, Angelique Both and Stephanie Parr, mezzo sopranos Jill Sullivan, Fleuranne Brockway, and Amy Yarham. Cellist Nick Pitt will also join in a trio with Cowling, Sullivan and pianist Marilyn Phillips, while David Dockery will feature on piano.

Phillips, who is also the Musical Director of Art Song Perth, said the concert program was inspired songs which featured the night, moonlight, stars and dreams in their many different guises.

It will include Schubert's serene Nacht und Träume (Night and Dreams), César Franck's Nocturne and Osvaldo Golijov's haunting Lua Descolorida (Colourless Moon), as well as five songs by Respighi.

The program is not limited to classical music, with more contemporary music also on offer, including songs by composers Jake Heggie and William Bolcom.

From lullabies to lovers' meetings and moonlight serenades, there are songs to enchant every listener at this Art Song concert.

The concert will be held at The Church of the Resurrection, 105 Shenton Road, Swanbourne at 3pm.

Tickets cost $30 non-members, $25 concession, $20 Art Song members and $15 students.
