La Maison du Chocolat
Summer Collection

La Maison du Chocolat have unveiled their new Summer Collection. This is the best chocolate that I have ever tasted. What a lovely way to enjoy the Upper East Side of New York City. The welcoming staff will make you feel at home and will answer all of your questions. The theme of this summer's collection is Chiberta - A Voyage to the Basque Country.

Learn about the Basque Country of France, the birthplace of Robert Linxe (founder of La Maison du Chocolat). The culinary elements of this area are almonds, honey, red chili peppers and anise which influence this chocolate. Their philosophy is offering the worlds best chocolate while keeping each taste experience pure.

The Summer Collection. Starting with Etzia "a creamy milk chocolate ganache flavored with the floral sweetness of wildflower honey, and chestnut honey from the Basque mountains." Then there is the spectacular Txokolat lluna "an intense, plain dark chocolate ganache with smoky notes." This is pure and incredible. Next, Praline Macaron "a smooth and silky rare praline made with almonds and slivers of dark chocolate macarons." This is crunchy and very nice. Then there is the interesting (in a good way) Almond Paste with Patxaran "a dark chocolate with almond paste and the traditional Patxaran Liquer. A mellow flavor of almond paste enhanced with the fruity aromas of anise." And finally, the Espeletako Piperra "capturing the intensity of the Basque reds, this bonbon perfectly balances the flavors and colors of red peppers, red Espellete pepper and dark chocolate ganache". This is a mild peppery flavor.

They also have lovely sweet Macaron Sylvia Cookies filled with ganache and Salvatore Raspberry Mouse Cake which is a balanced sweet delight.

They also offer ice cream, mousse and hot chocolate. The front of house has hundreds of chocolate items to choose from, with lovely, friendly French ladies to answer your questions and help with your purchases.

This chocolate blends different tastes perfectly and is worth a trip to one of their three New York City stores.
