La French Week is an exciting cultural and educational series of events held in, around, across, under, over and throughout Brisbane from Monday, 9 July until Sunday, 15 July, 2018 with the ultra-exciting Bastille Day celebrations on Saturday, 14 July.

As in every other such celebration of everything French Alliance Francaise de Brisbane is to be in the thick of the excitement. Over the week you can expect to see the Alliance's renowned workshops and talks arranged for audiences of young and old, ex-pats, Francophiles and everybody else who enjoys a good time to include such stimulating activities as:

*** Intensive Revision Classes for Levels A2 and B1
**Running daily from Monday, 9 to Friday, 13 July from 9.30am to 11.30am where participants focus on improving their French language skills. This unmissable workshop is being presented by Aurore Floury.

All session are being held in Room 7, Alliance Francaise, 262 Montague Road, West End.

* Le Champagne
Do you know everything there is to know about champagne? No, of course not – never fear, here is a workshop to remedy your shortcoming.

The Le Champagne will cover champagne's history, production, traditions and, most of all, its specialised vocabulary. Presented by Agathe Combemorel, a champagne connoisseur, the workshop is on Tuesday, 10 July from 6.00pm to 8.00pm in Room 8, Alliance Francaise, 262 Montague Road, West End.

Tastings are included because, as we all agree, practical experience is every bit as important as the theory.

* French Christmas in July (Noël en juillet)
Discover the specialities served at French Christmas celebrations such as la bûche, le champagne, les papillotes and more during this tasty, cultural workshop created and served in a buffet style by Catherine de Chermont, Alliance's unofficial chef.

To be held Wednesday, 11 July from 12.00 midday to 2.00pm in Room 8, Alliance Francaise, 262 Montague Road, West End.

* French movie, 'Rock'n Roll'
This wonderful comedy, directed by Guillaume Canet and starring Marion Cotillard is a satire by one French celebrity not afraid to poke fun at himself. For some more detail check here .

Screening on Wednesday, 11 July from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at the Brisbane Square Library and Customer Centre , 266 George Street, Brisbane.

* Le Language de la Peinture – Levels B1/2 and C1/2
A series of workshops by Florence Thiriot, Alliance Francaise's resident art lover covering all the essentials needed for reading and understanding iconic French masterpieces as you use the study of such a fascinating topic to stretch your French language vocabulary and linguistic structures.

To be held on Thursday, 12 July from 5.30pm to 8.00pm in Room 7, Alliance Francaise, 262 Montague Road, West End.

*** Parlons et célébrons le français (Let's talk and celebrate French)
Come along and celebrate your French speaking skills at Alliance Francaise **during French Week. Select the level you are at and sign up. If you are unsure of which level to opt for give Alliance a call on 3844 4460.

Make your selection and enrol now for any of the classes being held on Friday, 13 July from 5.30pm to 7.00pm at Alliance Francaise, 262 Montague Road, West End.

* French Art and Revolution
