Casual, yet sophisticated. Busy, yet intimate. La Disfida in Haberfield is a restaurant perfect for all occasions - dinner with friends or family, a first date, an anniversary - in fact, no occasion is required to discover this rustic, authentic Italian restaurant.



We arrived at La Disfida on a cold, wet Sunday and were met with bustling waitstaff in a busy restaurant, who happily showed us to our table. The occasion tonight - a good friends upcoming wedding. All orders were taken and filled in no time.

Our party order led the calamari & zucchini fritters and a rocket, radicchio and parmesan salad to start, followed by two divine pastas and woodfired pizzas. A saffron pasta with sausage and red capsicum ragu, which was a board special, the other pasta in a tomato based sauce with ricotta. One pizza topped with wild mushrooms a d gorgonzola, again a board special, while the other pizza was topped with zucchini, capsicum and olives.

If this wasn't a delicious enough combination - dessert was around the corner. Panacotta with stewed rhubarb, creme brûlée with raspberries, a moist cloudless chocolate cake with vanilla bean ice cream, and a trio if gelati.

Truly a magnificent, casual experience that should be tried by all in Sydney.
