Life is about the journey - some roads are not always what they seem but you sure learn a great deal from them!
The La Capra Goat Run will be held this year at Fairview Vineyards. Fairview Vineyards date back to 1693, when Steven Verwey was granted land by the Governor of Cape to plant a vineyard. The first produce and inventory that was recorded were 2 barrels of wine. Thus, with 300 years of making wine, one can deduct that Fairview Wineries are experts in this field.
This year, runners of all levels with have the opportunity to run, or walk, through these majestic vineyards. Part of the course, also known as the Goat Run, will take runners over the "Pearl of Paarl" which are the huge boulders in shape of pearls making up most of Paarl Rock.
This event will take place on 15 October with runners having a choice between 5 km run or walk, 8 km run, 15 km run or 28 km. All runners will receive a 'runner's pack; which will include a T-shirt, Fairview cheese, yogurt and wine, a Fairview wine tasting voucher and discount vouchers valid on the day.
Entry Fees start at R180.00 and bookings can be done online with most of the proceeds go towards charities in the area.
