La Bohème has been one of the most iconic Fringe venues during the Adelaide Fringe season that has provided its customers with lots of laughs, lots of quality cabaret shows, and lots of drinks over the last 12 or so years!
But, as you may or may not have heard, La Bohème is currently at risk of closure, if they are unable to raise nearly $50,000 in less than 5 weeks. This comes in conjunction with a number of obstacles that have brought less foot traffic into the well-loved performance venue, due to construction work, a number of smaller bars popping up around the area, and the closure of Her Majesty's Theatre, which has left the space with a much lesser reliable pool of customers coming in, as a result of the chaos surrounding the area.
So, in order to help out one of our favourite businesses in the CBD, there will be a special Fringe variety show hosted next Wednesday (March 13, 2019) from 8pm - 930pm, called Loose Change Cabaret.
Hosted by Adelaide Fringe cabaret sweetheart Tash York and decorated with a fantastic line up of Adelaide Fringe favourites, customers will be treated to entertainment offered by Anya Anastasia, Laurie Black, Alfie Ordinary, Frankly, Jennifer Kingwell, Zach Watson, Kevin Quantum, Ambrosious Lee and so many more. Bringing together music, cabaret, comedy, magic, and burlesque, you'll be getting a taste of the finest from the Adelaide Fringe universe - all under one roof!
There will also be drinks available for purchase at the beer garden before and after the show, along with free face painting and glitter, for those who'd like to get into the festival spirit!
If, for whatever reason, you are unable to make it to Loose Change Cabaret, but you'd still like to help out La Bohème, there is a Go Fund Me page that has been set up, where people are encouraged to donate as little or as much as they can, to help preserve one of the best venues that currently has a home in the bustling and vibrant Adelaide CBD - link is here.
