Have you ever made the 5 minute walk from China to Paris? I'm not crazy, it's completely possible if you make the short walk from Adelaide's China Town to , a place just oozing Parisian chic.
La Boheme has a collection of small tables and comfy ornate sofa chairs. In one corner sits the small bar, and in the other a small spot perfect for the live performances that grace La Boheme's walls. The space is small, and you'll sometimes struggle to make your way from the table to the bar, but the one thing this place does well is ambience. Well, ambience and delicious cocktails.
Their range of tasty cocktails made with a selection of flavoured Absolut vodkas are one of La Boheme's major draw cards. With all too many bars confusing the idea of a cocktail and a frozen daiquiri machine, it is nice to find someone doing it right. A tasty combo of Absolut vanilla, cloudy apple juice, and cinnamon make the Apple Crumble, while the lime juice, vodka and aloe vera is another interesting mix.
To try the whole range of La Boheme cocktails try and make it there during their happy hour. Their already reasonably priced cocktails can be bought at half price. You'll have to be purchasing two of the same cocktail to get the deal, but it is more than worth it.
La Boheme play host to a range of music shows, and this is even more common during Fringe time. You'll have to check the local event guides for any information, because while La Boheme boast an outdated
myspace page , they unfortunately don't have a website to speak of. Perhaps it is all part of the old-style charm.
While they may lack a quality website, they definitely don't skimp on quality when it comes to their drinks. Using high quality ingredients to create cocktails at very affordable prices, this is a great spot to start your night. Open 5pm till late Wednesday to Sunday.
