Theres a new kid on the block

I recently visited what is known as "Eat Street" in Parramatta with a bunch of friends. Not having been there for quite a while, I was surprised by the vibe and the amount of people around, however, the usual culinary suspects lined the streets. Not a fan of big franchise restaurants and having eaten at them all before, we were looking for something different and happened upon a newly opened place with a fresh modern appeal, La Bella Vista, truly Italian.....

Delicious and well presented

The owner, Franco, was welcoming and chatty. No stranger to the restaurant business, he was the original owner and creator of the old and hugely popular "La Bella Vista" in Phillip St Parramatta (from 1988 - 2001), after which he decided to take a break. But now he, and "La Bella Vista", are back with a new twist on Parramatta's old favourite.

On the night we were there I think we tried pretty much everything on the menu between us all. Franco was very keen for feedback, good or bad, as, at the time, he was still tweaking the new menu, but everything we tried was really good. Particular standouts for me on the night were all the Pastas & Seafood Risotto, their extremely tender BBQ'd Octopus, Gnocchi, Salt & Pepper Calamari and, since returning a few times (as my 4yr old loves the 4 cheese gnocchi), I have enjoyed immensely their specials and home made pastas. The last one I tried was the home-made Papardelle with Scallops, It looked great and tasted even better, the scallops were fresh and perfectly cooked and the serving was abundant (I am afraid I somehow lost my photo of this one). You can view their full menu here.

La Bella Vista offers 4 choices for the little ones, Schnitzel or Calamari rings with chips or Penne Napoletana or Bolognese, all at $12.50 ea. They are fully licensed as well as BYO. There is a huge upstairs area that will eventually be fitted out for functions so keep an eye out for that should you have a party coming up. There is ample parking nearby with two parking lots a very short walk away.

They are currently open 7 nights for dinner and Wednesday through to Sunday for lunches. For further information and specials, please visit the Website or Facebook page.

Fantastic. My husband and I went to the old restaurant when we first started dating, were very disappointed that it closed. Definitely have to go back to the new place, it looks fantastic.

It's a fantastic restaurant with great ambience and yummy food. The waitstaff are pleasant and make you feel home.
Bruschetta and Seafood platter was so fresh and complemented with a nice Chardonnay. Great to see La Bella Vista on Church Street.
