Tucked away down a side street in Braddon, it's easy to miss Japanese-inspired . But this busy little bolthole is worth seeking out for the coffee alone. It offers pour-over brews with espresso and milk classics that will set you up well for the day ahead. Try the seasonal blend 'Kikan' which is said to taste like a caramel milkshake.

If you have time - because this place is so popular you might have to wait for a table - it's worth sticking around for breakfast too. Fat udon noodles topped with mushrooms, seaweed and a runny egg might not be traditional Aussie breakfast fare, but it's something I could definitely get used to. My companion opted for the breakfast bento which was nourishing and substantial. Other food options at include a kimchi toastie.
