Kurtosh is located in 'The Spot' in the heart of Randwick. The delicious scent of fresh pastries wafts up the street, tempting you to enter. When you do you will find marble counters, incandescent lighting, rustic décor and smiling, cake-filled faces.



The vibe is low-key, friendly and relaxed, but the cakes are vibrant, sweet and moreish. Sit back, sip on their strong chai lattes and watch the chefs roll out the dough right in front of your eyes. The standout feature to Kurtosh is the fact that you decide when enough is enough. That's right, the slab cakes are cut to the size you desire and sold by the gram ($4.90/100g). If you can't decide on just one, why not order a few smaller slices of various flavours? The lime tart (pictured) is tangy and sweet, with a ginger kick in the base. The strawberry sponge is delectable and they even have gluten free cakes.



The kurtoshes themselves are made fresh and come out piping hot. Peel a chunk off and discover the soft and doughy centre and the crunchy and sweetness of the crust. The cinnamon sugar has to be the tastiest of the lot. Don't forget to try a sample or two, they are always sitting on top of the counter.



Whilst you are at the counter, you'll notice the chocolate fudge cookies, $4.90 (pictured). They also come in peanut butter flavour and melt in your mouth. They are super rich and simply divine. If you are visiting in the morning you should definitely indulge in one of their pastries. The sticky poppy seed scroll is a popular classic and the babka loaves are a great takeaway that the family will love for afternoon tea.



Kurtosh are often introducing new cakes to the menu so you'll never tire of the place. Randwick opens till 10pm daily, even on public holidays, so it's perfect for a late night treat.
