If you have a bit of a sweet tooth, you definitely need to try the foods at Kürtősh. Simply looking at the cakes and treats available, it is nearly impossible to pick just one to try.

All the delicious cakes you can try

There are ranges of cheesecakes, tarts, savoury pastries and the mother of all delicious treats Kürtőskalács. I know the name is a mouthful, but oh my goodness, it is absolutely to die for. What it is, is a traditional Hungarian pastry with a caramelised outer shell with a soft doughy inner shell covered in nuts or cinnamon.

To make thing even more tempting, you can even buy them with Nutella placed between the inside and outside layers of dough, and they are all made fresh in store, which takes about 10 minutes.

There are also seasonal menu changes, so make sure you try everything you can before it gets swapped out for something else amazing!

If you're not feeling up to something sweet, there is a selection of savoury pastries that are also absolutely fabulous. Something to try would be the pesto-pull-apart pastry.

Mushroom Caramelised Onion & Potato, Pesto Pullapart with Sundried Tomato & Fetta ($4.90/100g), Spinach and Ricotta Bourekas ($4.90/100g), Spiced Sweet Potato Bourekas, Roasted Eggplant & Hummus Bourekas

Something interesting about the store is that it actually bases most of its prices on weight, so the cost is about $45/kg and as a result you can choose whatever size slice you'd like. Which is great if you want to take home a giant slab for your friends or take a lot of small slices in order to taste test all the cakes!

Another nice little touch is that you can choose to order your cake and whisk away or you can order something to drink and sit down at the charming little coffee tables.

Although they may be a bit too small if you're ordering a whole smattering of food, if it's just you and a friend, they're just the right size. An added bonus is that your plates will be close enough so that you can share (because you are going to want to try a little bit of everything guaranteed).
