Learn the history of radio at Radio Museum
What comes to your mind when you think of Blue Mountains?
Three Sisters in Katoomba? Six foot track? Spa holiday or long hiking trails? It does have it all and even more. For those who have a keen mind and are interested in development of technology and communications or just interested in having a look at the huge display of collector items, Blue Mountains also offer a visit to Kurrajong Radio Museum.
Friendly host will tell you the history of the displays and you can even try it for yourself as some of the displays are quite interactive. Your child would be delighted to try Morse code and your inner child will be pleased to walk into the old radio station cabin.
You can view many different artifacts including maritime radio clock, old typewriters, old USSR radio, radio prefix map of the world, and even broadcast receiver used in the movie "Australia" to name just a few.
Whether it is a rainy day outside, or you just happen to pass by Kurrajong on your way to or from Sydney, make sure to have a stop at Kurrajong Radio Museum and discover the interesting history of radio.
